Club Draw 2014:
Our first Club draw took place last Saturday night at the Top of the Town. This year’s total prize money is €11,800. Mouth Guards:
It is mandatory for Insurance purposes for all players from U6’s up to senior level to wear mouth guards at training and matches. Mouth guards can be purchased from Collins’ shop.

The under 12’s continue to improve with every game and they put in a fine performance in Foynes on Thursday evening last against St. Senans. They lost 1-6 to 2-8 in a pulsating game that swung from end to end. There were excellent performances from Eoin Sheahan, Danny Brady, Michael Tierney and Andrew O Riordan in a very good team effort. Friday July 4th:
U8:
Athea U8’s travelled to the County grounds in Mick Neville Park on Friday evening last playing teams from Feohanagh/Castlemahon, Fr. Caseys and St. Kierans in a Regional blitz. We had twelve players togged out and our boys and girls played did very well in all three matches. This young team are improving with every game they play and provided plenty of entertainment for all who had travelled on the night. Guess the Score:
Coiste na nÓg are running a guess the score competition for the upcoming Munster Senior Hurling Final which Limerick will be hoping to retain their title against Cork in a repeat of last year’s final.
County U14 & U16:
Well done to Shane Ambrose and James Ryan who were both members of the Limerick County Football teams who took part in tournaments last weekend. Shane played with the Limerick U14 team at the Jim Power tournament in Dungarvan scoring two points, one against Tipperary who they beat in the second match and one against Kerry North in the Plate final which they were unlucky to lose. James played with the County U16 team in Rathkeale, he scored a goal and a point in the cup final against Tipperary but despite their best efforts they lost out in the end. Well done to both our boys who did our Club proud.
County:
Limerick Senior Footballers advance to the next round of the qualifiers following a very impressive five point win over Antrim in the Gaelic grounds on Saturday evening last on a scorline of Limerick 3-11, Antrim 0-15. They were drawn away to Sligo and play them this weekend. Wishing all the team and management the very best of luck. We would also like to wish the Limerick Senior and Minor Hurlers the very best of luck this Sunday in the Munster finals in Páirc Ui Chaoimh.

FAI SUMMER SOCCER SCHOOLS – ATHEA UTD CAMP
Booking lines are now open at www.summersoccerschool.ie or phone 1850653653. The Athea Utd camp at The Vales commences on nextMonday week, July 21st and runs to Friday, July 25th. Cost to participate is £65 per person with a £10 reduction for each additional sibling and the camp is open to all boys and girls ages 6 to 14. All participants to receive top class coaching from FAI accredited coaches, full playing kit, football, back pack and certificate of participation. Places are filling fast so parents are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment and to ensure a place on the camp for your children. ALL COACHES ARE ALSO GARDA VETTED.

All managers from juniors down to schoolboys are asked to return all playing gear from last season to Tim O’Riordan as soon as possible.

In 2008 Athea Utd undertook a major development with the installation by Pride Sports & Leisure of a synthetic training area, the product is known as ‘FIELDTURF’ and is the only one of its kind in Co. Limerick.
Pride Sports & Leisure have this product patented and are the only company in the country able to install this FIFA approved product. There has being a huge amount of interest from clubs, leagues, companies and other parties and at the moment we have a limited number of slots available as clearly if you want the best The Vales, Athea is the place to train.
