Athea Tidy Towns

Athea Tidy Towns are holding their 10k/5k Fun Run on this Sunday July 6th at 1pm. Registration will take place in the Con Colbert Memorial Hall from 12 noon. After the race there will be a Prize Giving Ceremony at the Top of the Town with a Barbecue to follow. Hopefully the weather will be good for this event and that big numbers will take part to support this fund raiser for the Tidy Towns who are doing wonderful work to make Athea look blooming.

Annual Day Trip

Our annual day trip this year will be going to visit Áras an Uachtarán on Tuesday, July 15th. Due to security reasons all names need to be forwarded to the Áras by June 29th at the latest and photo I.D. will be required on the day. The bus will be leaving Newcastle West at 7.30am via Templeglantine, Abbeyfeale and arriving in Athea at 8 o’clock and leaving via Carrigkerry, Ardagh, Rathkeale, South Court, Limerick.
