Minor Football Championship:
Athea/Mountcollins Rangers are at home to St. Kierans on Friday evening June 27 at 7.30pm. All players to be at the field for 6.45pm. All support would be greatly appreciated.
Club membership:
For those who have not yet become members of Athea GAA Club they can still do so. This is a great way of supporting the Club at only a cost of €20 for the year. The GAA has the largest membership of any sports organization in Ireland. When one becomes a member of a GAA club, they become part of the GAA family and part of a great community based organization that continues to enhance the lives of so many people both young and old.
Sunday June 15:
5K Fun Run/Adventure Run:
Athea GAA Club will be hosting a Fun Run & Adventure Run this Sunday June 15. Registration will be at Athea GAA Grounds from 12 noon till 1-15pm and both the Fun Run and the Adventure run will be starting at 2pm Sharp in Páirc na nGael. The fees are €10 per person for all ages and €20 for a family in the Fun Run, the Adventure Run is €15 per person and is strictly for over 16s only. There is a first prize of €50 for the first man €50 first woman and €20 for the first child. Afterwards at Collins bar there will be a BBQ, spot prizes and Presentations. (There is no chip timing at this event).
Limerick GAA Draw 2014:

Mouth Guards:
It is mandatory for Insurance purposes for all players from U6’s up to senior level to wear mouth guards at training and matches. Mouth guards can be purchased from Collins’ shop.

Our under 12 footballers lost to Dromcollogher/Broadford on Thursday evening last before a good sized crowd in Athea. We started brightly but found scores hard to come by. Dromcollogher/Broadford got on top after that but our lads kept trying right to the end, Andrew O’ Riordan and Brandon Finucane were our best performers. Panel: T. J. Páirc na nGael was the venue as we hosted a Blitz with teams from Glin, Monagea and St. Marys/ Sean Finns traveling to Athea on Saturday morning last. Our boys and girls did very well in all the games they played scoring goals and points providing great excitement for all who were there cheering them on. All the parents’ coaches and children got well deserved refreshments afterwards in the clubhouse. Training continues this Friday evening at 6.30pm in Páirc na nGael and its important all the boys and girls attend. Registration:
The registration fee from U6 up to U16 is €25 per child or €40 per family. This year Parents of children of Coiste na nÓg will be able to become members of our Senior Club at a cost of €10. Please contact Jacqueline if you have any queries. All new members are welcome. Any child registering for the first time will need to bring a copy of their birth cert.

Cúl Camp 2014:
This year’s Cúl Camp will be taking place in Páirc na nGael from Monday July 7 to Friday July 11 from 10.00am to 2.30pm. Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps are a great way for boys and girls between the ages of 6 – 13 to play the games and learn GAA skills in a fun child-friendly environment during the summer holidays. The cost of the camp is as follows:€55 for the first child; €45 for the second child and €40 for the third and subsequent children. Each child receives a Free Kellogg’s GAA kit and backpack. Bag Packing:
The Club will be fundraising by bag packing in Tesco’s Abbeyfeale on Friday June 20 and Saturday June 21. We would greatly appreciate if anyone could spare an hour or two to help the Club with this vital fundraiser on either day. Guess the Score:
Coiste na nÓg will be running a guess the score competition for the upcoming Munster Senior Hurling Final which Limerick will be hoping to retain their title. More details next week.

FAI SUMMER SOCCER SCHOOLS – ATHEA UTD CAMP
Booking lines are now open at www.summersoccerschool.ie or phone 1850653653. The Athea Utd camp at The Vales commences on Monday, July 21st and runs to Friday, July 25th. Cost to participate is £65 per person with a £10 reduction for each additional sibling and the camp is open to all boys and girls ages 6 to 14. All participants to receive top class coaching from FAI accredited coaches, full playing kit, football, back pack and certificate of participation. ALL COACHES ARE ALSO GARDA VETTED.
