Thursday May 8:

Under 12:
Our under 12’s were well beaten by a strong Askeaton/Ballysteen team on Thursday last in Athea. We had a big panel of players and again everyone got to play on a night when we never got into our stride. The team gave their best all the way to the finish and for that they should be happy with their efforts. Training continues this Thursday night at 6.30pm and our next match is away to Newcastle West on Thursday May 22nd.  Panel: T. J. Hunt, Michael Tierney, Eoin Sheahan, Nicola Scanlon, Pierce O’Brien, Jack Hunt, Alex McEldowney, Eoin O’Shea, Evan Wallace, Páraic Enright, Danny Brady, Sarah O’Connor, Andrew O’Riordan, Adam Byrne, Aidan Curry, Gavin Ambrose, Luke Gleeson, Dermot Pierse, Sarah Scanlon & Meadhbh Donovan.

Friday May 9:

U8:

On a cold wet Friday evening last, our U8’s played their second blitz away in Abbeyfeale. Athea were down to play St. Kierans, Abbeyfeale and Monagea. We played Abbeyfeale in the first game and played St Kieran’s in the second game. But unfortunately due to the bad weather we did not get to play Monagea. The coaches agreed to play two zones, backs and forwards. It worked very well as all the players got a touch on the ball and all the boys and girls got to play. Well done to our young Athea team, they passed the ball, scored goals and points and did the coaches proud.  Many thanks to Fr.Caseys for the refreshments for the team after the game.Training continues this Thursday evening at 6.30pm. Team: Jamie Collins, Ciaran Hunt, Fionn Histon, Rory Cleary, Tomas Ahern, Brid Hunt, John Carmody, Evan Curry, Callum Buckley, Adam Somers, Ailísa Ahern, Niamh Ambrose, Jim Ahern & James Hunt
