GOULDING WELCOMES ANNOUNCEMENT OF FUNDING FOR UNFINISHED ESTATES IN CARRIGKERRY AND NEWCASTLEWEST

Local Election Candidate Stephen Goulding welcomes the announcement today by Minister for Housing and Planning Jan O’Sullivan, TD, of funding for unfinished estates in West Limerick. Welcoming the funding, Labour Candidate Stephen Goulding said, “There has been substantial progress made under Minister Jan O’Sullivan on the issue of unfinished estates. However, far too many families are still living in these conditions. These families paid for homes at the peak of the market and are stuck with houses that they can’t sell, many of which are eyesores and some are unsafe to live in” “Over the past number of months, I brought Minister of Sullivan to visit the unfinished estates in our area that need particular attention. Jan met with many residents who asked her for help to improve the situation for them. Since then, I have continued to meet with Jan on this issue, in an effort to bring it to a speedy resolution.” “I am now delighted to announce that following my representation to Jan O’Sullivan, both The Glebe in Newcastle West and Ardmoyle in Carrigkerry are to be included in a new €10m fund for unfinished estates. This funding will make a huge improvement to the lives of the people living in these estates”. “If elected, I will continue to work with the residents and Minister Jan O’Sullivan to ensure that this work is carried out in the very near future”.
