Going Strong

The Going Strong committee would like to thank all the people who attended their annual Dinner & Dance at the Top of the Town Bar, Athea on Wednesday, December 11th and a very special thank you to all the ladies who came to help on the day and our local branch of St. Vincent de Paul. Music was provided by Jim Connery and plenty of spot prizes were given out on the day. Thanks to all who sponsored the gifts (some of whom gave numerous prizes). The dinner was provided by Ann’s Diner, Abbeyfeale and the deserts, buns and cakes for afternoon tea were done by Ann, Mary, Kit, Bernie and Colleen. The wine for the meal was provided by Ted Murphy, Nash’s, Newcastle West. Bridie O’Shea, who is retiring this year, was presented with a gift for her 15 years of service as treasurer of the Going Strong, by Mary Kelly.

Bridie has done Trojan work down the years and will be greatly missed by all.

The committee members would like to wish Bridie all the best in the years ahead and thank her sincerely for all the time and effort she put into the organization.

A great day was had by all and sincere thanks once again to all who contributed or helped in any way to make this happen
