U21 Feale Rangers(Athea/Mountcollins):
Feale Rangers played Newcastle West in the third round of the U21 Premier Championship in Mick Neville Park on Friday night last. A great first half performance saw us with a seven point lead at half time thanks mainly to a goal each for Kevin Murphy and James Brouder. In the second half, Newcastle West piled on the pressure and with the help of two goals leveled the match with five minutes left on the clock. JamesBrouder edged us in front again when he rose the white flag, but two late points from the opposition sealed the win on a score line of FealeRangers 2-11, Newcastle West 3-09. Despite this we can still qualify for the quarter finals if we win our two remaining matches this weekend against St. Kierans and Na Piarsaigh. Team: Jonathan Fitzgerald, Jamie Lenihan, Mark O’ Connor, Gary Vaughan, Cian O’ Sullivan, Denis Greaney, Shane Mulvihill, Kevin Mahony, Stephen Cahill, Conor Moroney , Pa Delee, Kevin Murphy, Matthew Brouder, James Brouder, Maurice Hayes, Ryan Carroll, Liam O’ Brien, William Finnegan, Sean Casey, Diarmuid Glesson, Emmet White & Dylan Griffin.

U12 Parish League:
The U12 Parish league took place on Saturday evening last in Páirc na nGael. Three teams, Kerry, Cork and Limerick battled it out for the Shield which was kindly sponsored by Diarmuid Collins of Stelcon Construction in Templeathea. Limerick played Kerry in the first match and there was only a few points between them after an evenly contested first half. John Sexton and Jamie O’ Mahony were very busy on the Kerry team and combined well on numerous occasions, however Limerick had the edge. Ciara O’ Shea was tackling hard in defence, Evan Wallace was solid in goals and as a result they won the first match of the league. The second match saw Limerick take on Cork and fresh from their first round victory Limerick won easily and booked their place in the final. The next match was Cork versus Kerry and with a place in the final at stake both teams gave it their all in a very entertaining game. Danny Brady was outstanding in goals for Cork and his team mates Alex McEldowney and Claire Carmody covered every blade of grass as they led at half time by a couple of points. Kerry never gave up, Thomas McEnery, Sarah O’ Connor and Laura Dalton all battled hard till the final whistle but it was Cork who had won and would play Limerick in the final.
After winning their first two matches, Limerick were hot favourites to win, but Cork were determined to turn the tables on their earlier meeting and win the final. Both teams served up a fantastic game of football and the Cork Captain David O’ Connor opened the scoring with a fantastic goal. It was score for score after that with Amy Ryan kicking some lovely points for Limerick in this half. Cork were leading by a point at the break and it was all to play for as the excitement was building on the sideline amongst the parents. Jack Hunt was brilliant throughout all the matches and he put in a super performance for the Cork team in the final. Limerick’s Aidan Curry got on the scored board with a well taken fisted point, but it was Limerick’s Captain Jack O’ Connor who led by example as he displayed every skill of the game and it was his performance that gave Limerick the edge as they won on a score line of Limerick 4-03, Cork 2-06.
This was a great way to end the year as all the boys and girls put in a hundred percent effort on the day. Chairman Paul Curry presented all the teams with medals and Jack O’ Connor accepted the Stelcon Construction Shield on behalf of the Limerick team. Many thanks to Denis Greaney who refereed all the matches and all those who helped out on the day.

LAST MAN STANDING
The club are once again running the very popular Last Man Standing Competition for the coming season and we had week six last weekend where we had thirty one (31) left standing. However we lost almost two thirds of these as yet again Chelsea have let a big number of people down. Last weekend was an International Weekend so fixtures resume this coming weekend for the eleven (11) remaining players. Prize money for the first Last Man Standing Competition is €300 and it is being sponsored by The Top of the Town and the club would like to thank Betty and Johnny for the sponsorship. There is also a sellers prize of €50 for the person that sells the winning line.
