In recent years a number of deer have taken up residence in the many forest plantations around the locality. The month of October sees the rutting season in progress, and as a result the deer are moving freely from plantations to plantations. Signs are in place in some areas to warn people of the dangers of deer crossing the roads. More need to be put in place as they increase in number and people need to be aware of their existence. The message is to be careful at present driving along rural roads near forestry’s.
