Cystic Fibrosis Awareness

On Friday 31st May and Saturday 1st June 2013 there will be two Flag Days for C.F. Awareness in Abbeyfeale. Money collected will go to researchas there are new drug therapies  becoming available for this disease.

On Sunday next June 2nd @ 2pm a walk will be held on the trail from Halla Inse Banin Templeglantine to Abbeyfeale. Return transport on Bus Eireann

SUPPORTING CHILDREN THROUGH BEREAVEMENT:

The Newcastle West Family and Community Hub (located upstairs at the NCW Community Centre) will be holding a workshop on Wednesday June 12th on supporting children with bereavement or coping with a dying family member.  Running from 7.30-9.30pm, the session will be led by Child Psychologist and Play Therapist Tina O’Brien and funded by the Compassionate Communities Project with the support of West Limerick Resources.

 

RAINBOWS SUPPORT SERVICES:

A workshop of Rainbows volunteers and those interested in volunteering with the project in West Limerick this September will take place in the Newcastle West Family and Community Hub (located at the Community Centre) on Wednesday June 19thfrom 7.30-9.30pm.  “Rainbows” is a peer support programme for children aged 6-10 years grieving as a result of a loss or separation and is managed locally by West Limerick Resources. Run by trained volunteers, the programme is positive, gentle confidential and encouraging however it is not counselling or therapy service.  It is instead a safe, confidential setting where children can share their grief associated feelings with each other and with these trained facilitators.

 

TRADITIONAL LIME MORTAR TRAINING:

West Limerick Resources will be offering a one week training programme (Monday-Friday, 9.30am-4pm approx) on the use of traditional lime mortar to members of local communities who are interested in undertaking simple conservation and repair work at historic sites (such as graveyards) subject to the necessary permission and guidance of Limerick County Council Archaeologist.  This hands—on training initiative is free to those interested in becoming involved in conservation and enhancement work.  Limited places available.  Registration essential.  Venue and dates of training to be confirmed.  Contact Suzanne on 069 79114 or email [email protected] for a registration form.

  

TOWARDS OCCUPATION:
