County:
Limerick Senior footballers are 4 points clear at the top of Division 4 of the National Football League after a hard fought win over a strong Carlow side at the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday evening last. Playing into a strong breeze Limerick were 2 points down in as many minutes but an Ian Ryan free settled Limerick and after an evenly contested first half Carlow had the edge by just 2 points. After the break a tighter Limerick defence, conceding only 2 points in this half, laid the foundation for a much improved performance. The sides were level with time almost up when an Ian Ryan free secured a great win for Limerick on a scoreline of Limerick 0-10 Carlow 0-9.
