Lucky No’s Jackpot Won Again

Congratulations to Timmy, Tricia and Anne Sheehan, Hillside Drive, who won the Lucky No’s Jackpot of €3,700 on Saturday night. The winning ticket was sold by Anna May Sweeney.

Athea Tidy Towns AGM

‘Our AGM will take place next Monday night February 25th at 8pm at the Con Colbert Hall. This is a great opportunity for you to come along and share your ideas/expertise all for the better of our village. Anyone interested in joining our committee or helping with our weekly clean ups etc are urged to come along where you will be most welcomed. We have exciting plans ahead for the coming year and we welcome any help or support. A ‘cuppa tae’ and a bun is promised to anyone that turns up!’

No  Interest In “The Gathering”

Despite being well advertised, in newspapers, posters, church notice and word of mouth, only ONE member from another organisation turned up for the meeting organised by Athea Community Council, at the Top of the Town on Monday night, to discuss the possibility of running a Gathering festival in the village over the August weekend. It is a pity this opportunity is lost, especially the chance of getting Athea people who live outside the area to return for a visit.
