Awards Night for Minor Footballers

Our successful minor team were presented with their medals at the Top of the Town on Sunday 21st December.

Newly appointed County Board Officer Seamus McNamara from Abbeyfeale [originally Athea] made the presentations on the night.

Presentations were also made to Manager Noel Barry and Selector Denis Collins.

LAST MAN STANDING
The new Last Man Standing Competition got underway on the weekend of December 29th and which is being sponsored Tom O’Grady, Brown Joe’s Bar and the club would like to thank Tom O’Grady for his sponsorship.
Already we have had a few fallers at the first hurdle with a good number going for the then in form Stoke City while we lost over 100 when Chelsea lost 1-0 at home to QPR. Last weekend we lost a big number again thus leaving just 23 people left standing. Best of luck to all for next weekends fixtures.

CLOTHES BANK
Athea Utd this week installed a clothes bank at our grounds at The Vales and which accept clothes as well as other items. The clothes bank will benefit The Street Children of Calcutta as well as providing a very useful service for the people of the parish and its environs.
The clothes bank can accept the following items – (1) Clothes. (2)Sheets. (3) (Blankets. (4) Towels. (5) Shoes. (6) Curtains

THE CLOTHES BANK WILL BE OPEN AT THE FOLLOWING TIMES –

Mondays 10am to 3pm. Wednesdays 10am to 3pm. Fridays 10am to 3pm.
Monday – Friday nights from 7pm to 9.30pm.
Saturday and Sundays 10am to 2am.

Athea Utd AFC in conjunction with Adrenalin Sport are pleased to announce details of some news that will be of interest to all the players in the club. Currently we are distributing Discount Cards from Adrenalin Sports to all our players. The Discount Cards allows you to a 15% reduction off all regular stock at any of its outlets in Abbeyfeale (Main Street) or in Newcastle West (Upper Maiden Street or Lower Maiden Street). In addition the Discount Card allows you a 10%
reduction on any sale stock in either outlets. So we would urge
players that are looking to at purchasing any sports attire to support the local Adrenalin Sports outlets.
