Firstly congratulations to Donal and Lillian on yet again another great production with the Athea Parish Journal which came out this week. It makes a great read and is full of interesting articles, poems and of course the photos in colour make it all the better. Don’t forget your families overseas would love a copy to keep them in touch with home.
We welcome the new babies also born to Athea couples.
Tim O’Keeffe (son of Peg and the late Timmy) and his wife Claire were blessed with their first baby, a boy they are naming Kevin. We extend congrats to Peg a proud grandmother again.
Congrats also to first time grandparents Ita and Joe Vaughan of Templeathea whose daughter Lorraine and her husband Joe Tiggs had a new baby boy, Iarliath Seamus, recently. They reside in Newcastle West.
Congrats to Coiste na nÓg on the production of a lovely, colourful calendar for 2013, full of lovely photos of all the underage players. A must for all player’s families especially and a lovely Christmas gift.
Congrats to everyone who supported the fundraising Craft Fair at the hall on Sunday last. What an array of tables – festooned with all types of crafts, baking, floral arrangements, wooden and stone products, paintings and much more. Approximately 20 tables in all. Congrats as well to the ladies in the kitchen who, as always, were there to dish out the cakes and teas etc. In all another successful hall fund-raiser. Every little bit of money keeps the bills paid.
Congrats to Athea Credit Union who once again had a very well attended AGM on Friday night last and were highly praised by their auditors who stated that the books were in perfect order and complimented the staff for their dedication and good work. The main emphasis on the night was that anyone who is finding it hard to make their loan repayments at the moment to please call in to the office, where they will be met with a sympathetic ear and the staff will try and sort something out for them
