Fair Day
This Saturday, November 3rd
Traditionally held on the 14th November, the Fair of Athea was eagerly looked forward to by young and old alike. Since its revival a few years ago the dates had to be changed to fit in with the weekend but the spirit remains the same. This year will, we hope, be no exception and Saturday will once again relive the days of old with all kinds of livestock and merchandise on offer. All we need now is a fine day.
Book Launch
Our weekly correspondent Peg Prendeville from Glenbawn will be launching her latest book The Purple Pencil (Reflective Poems Celebrating Everyday Life) on Friday, November 16th at 8pm in Newcastle West Library. Nóirín Ní Riain, celtic spiritual singer will launch the book. Everybody is welcome to go along and enjoy a Cheese and Wine reception beforehand. We wish Peg the very best of luck.
