Saint Kieran’s defeated Kilsheelan/Kilcash Tipperary  by 0-14 to 1-2 in the AIB Munster Club Junior Hurling Championship Quarter-Final at Limerick Gaelic Grounds, on Saturday last 10th November. The match was switched from Feenagh, just a few hours before throw in due to the heavy rain that fell the night before. The pitch at headquarters was heavy with rain showers during the game, making it difficult for the players to perform to their true abilities. A crowd of 400 mainly from Saint Kieran’s led to little atmosphere, with Siberian conditions in the stand. Saint Kieran’s with wind advantage, dominated from the start and led by 0-9 to 1-1 at the break.  They were on top in most positions, and continued to dominate in the second half holding the Tipperary nominated club to just one point. A good win in difficult conditions, set up a semi final contest with Kenmare Shamrocks from Kerry. This game is fixed for Sunday 18th November at a Kerry venue, and we wish the club well and hope they advance to the provincial decider fixed for Sunday 9th December in Mallow. We also wish a speedy recovery to Timmy Carroll who was injured in the County final and out of contention for team selection at present.
