Sunday 24th of June:
U12’s:
Athea 2-11 (17) Mountcollins 3-0 (9)
Early on Sunday morning last our U12’s travelled to Mountcollins to play their first game in group H of the league. Athea put in a very impressive first half as our backs were solid, our mid-field on top and our forwards keeping the locals on their toes. At the break we lead 1-9 to -2-0, thanks to some brilliant points scoring by John Sexton, Shane Dalton, Joseph Dalton and Jamie O’ Mahony. The second half was much the same as we were in control in all areas. Shane Ambrose was outstanding in the backs as Mountcollins found it hard to break us down. Over all this was a great performance from our U12’s as we ran out easy winners on a scoreline of Athea 2-11, Mountcollins 3-0. Team: Daniel McEldowney, Joseph Dalton, David O’ Connor, Jamie O’ Mahony, Shane Ambrose, Shane Dalton, John Sexton, David Sheahan, Jack O’ Connor, Donnacha Clancy and Sean Sheehan.
