Well done to Connie Noonan who received his cheque of €5600 from
Killeaney AFC on Sunday night in the Knockdown Arms.

Work is continuing on the Loughill/Ballyhahill Parish Annual. Articles
are coming in nice and steady and it promises to be another very
interesting publication. Deadline is 15th February. You’ve been warned.

Friday is the 1st Friday of February.  Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament will be held in Ballyhahill after morning Mass until one o’clock. Fr O’Leary will be visiting the sick and housebound.

I have had the pleasure of meeting two lovely women recently all the way from Argentina. They are Valeria and her mother Betty from Buenos Aires and they spent the month of January in Hazel Cottage in Ballyhahill. From there they travelled to Dublin, Belfast, Kerry and Clare. They really immersed themselves in the life of the parish and got to know Paddy in the shop, the teachers in the school, Peg in the library, Séamus at the dancing classes and many more. Valeria is a teacher of geography and she gave a little geography lesson to the 5 &
6th class in Scoil Naomh Mhuire. They really loved our country and promise to be back again even though they have no connections at all in our part of the country. Betty’s grandparents came from Balbriggan, Co. Dublin. Some years ago, before our world got very small, it would be strange to meet people from such a faraway place but thankfully now
it is one of the joys of air travel and tourism.

Continued “get well” wishes to Pat Brosnan.
