I forgot to comment on the recent Mission in Glin which was a great success with the crowds getting bigger each night. Redemptorists Frs. Enright and Meskell were kept busy all that week with three ceremonies each day as well as visiting the children in both Glin and Ballyguiltenane schools and visiting the Cloverfield Day Care centre. Fr Séamus Enright is a nephew of Liam Enright in Clounleharde and the joke was that Fr Séamus  spent so much time talking to all his relations in Glin that the other priest – Fr Meskell – was left with all the work to do!

I attended the concert in Athea on Sunday night. Everybody concerned should be very proud of the great show. It is amazing how much talent and creativity there is in parishes but when it’s all put together in one show it is even more impressive. There was something for everybody both traditional and modern – music, song, dance, comedy. Well done to all involved. It will be staged again next Sunday night about 7.30pm so if you have not seen it mark your diaries now. Every Parish should consider putting on such a show as a combat to all the depressing news re Euro crisis etc.

The Dog Night in Tralee for Tarbert Comp was a great success last Saturday night thanks to the team who did all the hard work to ensure same. Everybody enjoyed themselves and a good sum of money was raised towards the proposed gym in the school.

Maurice Reidy, Killeaney has a lovely Art and Photo exhibition in Glin Library at the moment. All welcome.

The Killeany AFC Annual Social will be in the Knockdown Arms on this Friday night. There will be speeches and prizes and raffles and food and lots of fun. All welcome.
