The film “Pilgrim HIll” will premiere at the Tinteán Theatre in Ballybunion on Friday October 14th at 8pm. This is the first full length film from Gerard Barrett who made “The Valley of Knockanure”. This film tells the story of a bachelor farmer in rural Ireland. All are welcome. Admission €10. Box office 068 22002. Gerard’s father Joe Barrett is from Knockdown as all of you know and his mother Peggy from Knocknagorna. We wish him the best in his film-making career.
Killeaney AFC wishes to thank all those who supported the fundraising night in Knockdown on Saturday night. The annual Social will be held on Friday November 18th. Mark your calendar.
Best wishes to Ella Darmody, Loughill, who along with four others, is undertaking a 4 week volunteering trip to East Africa. They leave on Oct 20th next and all they receive will go direct to their project for clothes, medical and other supplies. Donation Cards are available locally for anyone who wishes to help out.
The céilí dancing classes started back in Ballyhahill in the Parish Hall last Monday night and will continue for the winter. All welcome.
The ICA ladies will be meeting on next Tuesday night at 8pm in the Parish Hall also. Feel free to join them.
Congratulations to Tommy & Joan O’Connor who became grandparents when their daughter Lisa Wallace gave birth to a baby boy, Harry.
