Rally
This Sunday, August 28th sees the annual Vintage Rally taking place in Athea.
It is expected to be a fun day out with loads of attractions including Bouncing Castle, Face Painting, Amusements, Entertainment and the added attraction of a Best Groomed Dog Competition.
Big Maggie and Ivan will be entertaining in the field from 1pm.
The presentation of the Jimmy Dee Memorial Cup takes place at 4pm followed by a parade of all the Vintage vehicles through the Village.
So a good day out in store for young and old and hopefully the weather will be fine for the event.

Knockfierna Heritage Society Events

FREE TRAINING FOR WOMEN IN TOURNAFULLA:
West Limerick Resources is pleased to announce that it has received new funding under the Equality For Women Measure 2010 – 2013 to roll out a new part-time training programme starting in September. The programme will be based in Tournafulla delivering a FETAC Level 4 Certificate in Information & Communications Technology Skills (4M0855). Modules include Communications, Maths, Information Technology Skills, Computer Applications, Web Design, Work Experience, Photography, Painting & Drawing. RAINBOWS PROGRAMME:

Volunteer Computer Tutors Sought
Volunteers, over 18, are being sought to provide basic email and internet training to over 65’s and others with no computer experience in a number of West Limerick locations for 1½ hours per week over a 4 week period. It is expected that these classes will begin in September.
Training will be provided beforehand so tutors will know what to expect. Volunteers do not require any specific qualifications but must have a working knowledge of computers. Training material will be supplied and each tutor will be limited to a maximum of 3 students at a time ensuring that individual learners get plenty of personal attention.

Crafts
Are you interested in learning or improving your knitting or crochet or showing others your skills? If so interested individuals are invited to come together one evening per week for two hours and share their skills in a creative setting.
