The annual Waltzing Competition for the Timmy O’Keeffe Memorial Trophy will be held at The Gables this Friday night, August 12th in conjunction with the CCE Céilí. Music on the night is with Domhnall de Barra and Band.

A severe drought throughout East Africa has left millions of people acutely short of food

Somalia Appeal continued……..

and water, resulting in the death of livestock and the erosion of livelihoods. It is estimated that over 10 million people need humanitarian assistance in the drought-hit countries of East Africa immediately.

This disaster is considered to be one of the worst to hit the area since the early 1950s. 2.6 million in Somalia are in urgent need of aid.

A severely malnourished child being examined by a medical officer of MSF in Dagahaley, one of three settlements in Kenya’s sprawling Dadaab refugee camp. Hundreds of Somali refugees are arriving each day after fleeing drought and civil war in Somalia.

FREE TRAINING FOR WOMEN IN TOURNAFULLA:

West Limerick Resources is pleased to announce that it has received new funding under the Equality For Women Measure 2010 – 2013 to roll out a new part-time training programme starting in September. The programme will be based in Tournafulla delivering a FETAC Level 4 Certificate in Information & Communications Technology Skills (4M0855). Modules include Communications, Maths, Information Technology Skills, Computer Applications, Web Design, Work Experience, Photography, Painting & Drawing. RAINBOWS PROGRAMME:
