PLANNING A PARTY?

If you are planning a party this is an excellent opportunity to combine your fun day (family day) with the opportunity to do a little fundraising for your local Community Hall & Sports Complex.

Niall King of Shanagolden Bouncing Castles has kindly agreed to make a donation for every bouncing castle and marquee that is booked through the hall committee. We would also like to make you aware that the hall is available to rent for a small fee of €50 for functions such as children’s parties (which can cater for indoor bouncing castles so you can beat the weather) and other family occasions.  Contact 087 1525597 to make your booking.

OTHER FACILITIES

The hall is also available for post funeral catering including the use of the kitchen. We are still open for meetings, so contact 087 1525597 to secure your booking.

As the hall is still in debt we would ask all parishioners to support these initiatives to allow us to continue to have the hall available for use by all age groups with activities such as drama, basketball, soccer, football, dancing, karate, children’s play group, Foroige, bingo and many more.

FUND RAISING

This year’s fund raising draw has been a great success. The number of tickets sold were 1,275 and this allowed us to make a profit of €9,000.00 which, along with other donations through the year, allowed us to reduce our loan with the credit union from €73,00.00 to €58,000.00

Many thanks to the Drama Group for their donation of €800.00 from their charity night performance and to the EBS in Newcastle West for their donation of €500.00.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT ARA NA FEILE:

Our next committee meeting will be on Friday April 1. The group meeting will be on Wednesday April 6 at the Abbeyfeale Rugby Club Pavillion in The Grove, starting at 2.30pm. At our meeting last Wednesday we discussed: an outing to Cork taking in Cobh and Fota Wildlife Park and Garden; an invitation from Arra Friends NCW to a party on April 28; and an invitation from Castleisland ARA to attend one of their meetings. It was suggested that a Holiday Sub-Committee be set up to discuss future breaks. We are looking forward to having a talk on local history at a future meeting.
