Killeaney AFC is organizing a Table Quiz in Knockdown this Friday night March 25th. It is a fundraiser for the club and everybody, whether you are soccer fans or not, is invited to put forward a team as the questions are aimed at both the young and the older. It begins about 9.30 pm. These are always enjoyable occasions.
The Ballyhahill/Loughill ICA ladies are practicing like mad for the federation final of the drama competition in the Woodlands in Adare next Tuesday night at 8pm. I have been away for a few days – in Cheltenham if you don’t mind – so I have not caught up on home news. It was a learning experience to attend Cheltenham. I had not realized how seriously people took the whole horse and racing business. I was more interested in seeing another part of the world and admiring the lovely scenery and learning about the area! So I took advantage of my days there to visit Bath, which is a world heritage town near Bristol where we stayed. I also did a tourist trail around Bristol. I was very impressed with the friendliness of everybody that I met and these little trips gave me more satisfaction than losing my money in Cheltenham! However the racing fans had a great time and some came home with more money than they had going out. That is what I call good luck.
I must send get well wishes to my father Paddy Faley who is being treated for a mild bit of pneumonia at the moment but the good news is that he is doing very well. I am thinking too of Mary Flavin who is being well cared for by Carina and all the family.
