Just when we thought that the winter was over I woke up last Sunday morning to see the ground white with snow again. However it melted off fairly quickly, but whether it was the snow or not the Car Boot Sale was a non-runner. It was disappointing for the Killeaney AFC committee members who had put in the effort to get it going but such is life.

A Traditional night will be held in Bárr na Sráide, Ballyhahill, on this Wednesday 16th March with all proceeds going to Estuary Rugby Club. Estuary Rugby club was set up four years ago. Many children in the parish are involved. Estuary is a very active club providing top class coaching for U8 up to U16. Through the club a school’s coach comes to the schools on a regular basis. Estuary club is travelling to Wales over the Easter holidays where they will play against other clubs and get the opportunity to attend to international games. As with many organisations all this work and coaching is done voluntary and the fund raiser is to help against the cost for the trip to England. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
A few people from the Parish climbed Croagh Patrick last Saturday for charity. They had to contend with snow at the top as well as the rough shale which I believe can be dangerous if one is not careful.
Happy and safe St. Patrick’s Day to you all.
